Eli actually ate some food today without acting like it was poison and gagging. Hooray! We fed him some of our dinner--rice, beans, tortilla bits, and then some applesauce. I also saw his two top teeth coming in today. I guess that would explain why he has been cranky when he wakes up from his naps. Usually he is all smiles, but yesterday and today he cried and didn't want me to put him down. We are glad that mystery is solved.

Trapped
Lately Eli has loved playing with buckles, like those on his high chair, car seat, stroller, etc. The other day he was playing with those on his car seat and I was fixing dinner. Well, I heard the usual "playing noise", then silence, then Eli crying. And when I found him like this, I couldn't help but laugh and take a picture. He looked like a turtle with a big shell.
Eli has also started playing the piano. He just pulled himself up there one day and started playing on the keys. He must have figured out from watching me that if he could get up there he could make some noise.

Sunday Pics
We had some fun taking pics of Eli on Sunday. I got one of him after a nap in his crib. When I opened the door he was standing there waiting for me--just like usual. :) Oh, and a funny story about Eli and Kaelub. The other day Kaelub put Eli down for his nap and then shaved his head. When Eli woke up and Kaelub went in to get him out of his crib, Eli started screaming. Poor little guy didn't recognize dad without his hair. :( It took him about an hour to warm up to Kaelub and realize it was still dad.

9 Months
So after an eventful few weeks which included our computer crashing, trying to get all pictures & videos off the hard-drive, paying way too much to have Geek Squad burn us a DVD of them & finding out the DVD was actually blank when I went to view them, getting them to burn us a second DVD that actually had our pictures & video on it, and finally ending up having to buy a new computer, I decided my blog is really the most I do as far a journaling and I was falling way behind. I know it's only been a few weeks, but Eli does so many things I want to remember down the road and this is the best way for me to do that. Plus I can vent about the computer crisis. We just took Eli in for his 9 month doctor visit so here are the stats and tricks he has been up to:
1. Weight: 19 1/2 lbs (30%) He's definitely no jumbo tank. :)
2. Height: 30 in. (90%)
3. He is so fast!!! He can crawl up the stairs in seconds, but he hasn't caught on yet on how to get back down.
4. He pulls himself up on anything. Couch, chairs, laundry hamper, bathtub, cabinets, highchair, etc.
5. He loves, loves taking a bath. When he hears me turn on the water he crawls right over and stands up next to the tub with a big grin.
6. He has an obsession with the drapes hanging in front of the sliding back door, so we have to pull them up on a chair out of his reach. He also loves the blinds, so we have to keep those up as well. So much for privacy!
7. He eats, and eats, and eats. We have started trying little pieces of banana, bread, pasta. He loves to feed himself the puffs (kind-of like Cheerios). And he now eats all the baby food we try--even peas.
8. He says "dada", dad, & "mama" now, although his "mama" sounds like "nana".
9. He loves to hold onto our hands or fingers and walk. Sometimes he even holds onto his toy that has wheels and walks behind it.

On the Go

This last week Eli has really started to "investigate" things around the house. He loves to chase the vacuum, so it proves to be a challenge when I try to vacuum. I have to keep from running him over! He has also been climbing up the stairs and he even made it to the landing, where he sat up and turned around to look at me like he was so proud of himself. Eli pulls himself up on everything now--the couch, chairs, toys, kitchen cabinets, etc. One funny thing he does is when he hears the water running in the tub, he crawls over really fast and pulls himself up on the edge of the tub. He gets super excited when he sees or hears water! He loves it. We are having so much fun watching & playing with our little boy.

Fun at Grandma's House

There were a couple of fun pictures of Eli that I took while we were in Sugar. The one where he is standing by the couch was the first time he pulled himself up onto something. He started to walk along the couch until he came to the end there. The other one is of him in the high chair my mom had for him. Eli loved playing in it when it was on the ground, as you can see from the cheese grin on his face. :)
Family Reunion

We had our Moss family reunion last weekend, and now that we are back home and unpacked I thought I would get to posting some pictures. It was so fun to see all of the family--and all the babies that are so close in age. We had a lot of fun at Green Canyon swimming, playing games, and visiting with everyone. On Friday we went to Warm River with Neil, Libby, Heather, and her kids to feed the fish. They were so big! Then on Saturday on our way back from the reunion we stopped to look at the Teton Dam. Kaelub hadn't been there before and it had been awhile since I had seen it. It's crazy to think of what it must have been like when it broke. We already miss everyone.
