We took Eli up to the gardens at BYU-Idaho to see if we could get some pictures of him. It was pretty difficult to get a 20 month old to look at me and smile or even hold still. But after lots of shots, we ended up with some pretty cute ones.
We went to the zoo one morning & Eli watched them feed the penguins. The monkeys were really friendly with him and came right next to the glass to make faces & noises at him. He reached out and touched the window every time they came close. Eli again loved the petting zoo where he got to pet the goats. I didn't take very many pictures, but I did get some of him playing on the toys with grandma.
We set off some little fireworks for Eli one night and he actually liked the fountains & flowers. But one of them made a loud whistle type noise which scared him. He threw some snaps & watched a couple smoke bombs & then went to bed. While my mom was getting her hair cut one day I took Eli in to get his done too. Everyone just thought he was so cute & I was told he has great hair. He did really well for her.
We spent a couple days at the splash park, toys, & carousel at Porter Park. Last year when we tried to take Eli on the carousel, he didn't really like it. But this year he wanted to go on it over and over again. And of course he loves water. Steph, Marlee, & Brody met us there one day and it was a lot of fun.
We had a great time in Idaho for the 4th. We hadn't been up there for the 4th for 5 years or so, and we really packed in a lot of fun things. We took Eli to his first parade in Rexburg and he loved petting a horse before it began. One float threw otter pops out and Eli thought that was pretty yummy. We had a BBQ with family & friends and I was able to see a friend from school and her cute little family. Then Kaelub & I went to the fireworks in Idaho Falls. His cousins got there early to save us all a spot on the grass & we had a good time. Before a little breeze picked up we were getting a lot of ash on us from the fireworks. Good thing his aunt brought us all umbrellas to block it!
