Her Story

I guess I was spoiled having Eli 10 days early and then thinking the same thing would happen the second time around. Each day that went over that 10 day mark I grew more impatient. So when my Dr. offered to induce me on the 19th, her due date, I quickly said sure. Even if it meant going to the hospital at 3 AM. Then Monday night the hospital called to say they were really busy and that they would call me the next day when they had a room open for me. I was just a little upset, but what can you do. :) The next morning at about 7:30 they called to have us come in. I guess I was a little nervous about being induced, because I had heard stories and didn't know what to expect. Kaelub and I got checked in and they took me to my room around 9:00 am. They started the Pitosin and I got an epidural (so nice). And at 1:47 pm Ava was born! I was surprised at how fast she came because it took 18 hours for Eli to get here. My doctor, all the nurses, and staff were awesome. And Kaelub was a great supporter sitting next to me, feeding me ice chips, holding my hand, all that fun stuff. She is one week old today and I think we are all wrapped around her finger. Eli has been good around her. He likes to look at her and say baby, and he is always right there when we change her diaper. Here area few pics of her first week. (And one of Eli so he doesn't feel left out.)

Friends

Last week Ann flew in to visit from Denver and she brought her cute little boy Carson with her. Eli was constantly interested in his new little friend. (Sometimes in a not so friendly way, but we're working on sharing toys and being soft with babies, etc.) He loved watching Carson take a bath, play in the back yard with him, and woke up saying baby every morning they were here. My other friend Morgan came up from Tuscon Friday and we all went to a baby shower Kelsey threw for me. Thanks to all who came & especially Kelsey for all the work you put into it. I had alot of fun and I wish I would have taken pictures! Morgan has a little dog and so Eli was constantly wanting to go out back to play with it. He even had to feed the dog its food out of his hand. Ann was hoping, as was I, that I would have this little girl while she was here. It would be fair, since she had Carson while I was visiting her. :) But it didn't happen. But there is news on that subject. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said I could have her any day now. So we've been walking a lot since then. If I don't have her by Tuesday, which is my official due date, then he scheduled me to be induced that morning. So at least I know I won't have to go over. I guess I was spoiled having Eli 10 days early. I'm very ready to meet our little girl!
