Cake Fun
I have been taking a cake decorating class with a couple of friends and these are the first two cakes I made. The one with the cupcake was yellow cake with cream cheese filling & the clown cake was chocolate with german chocolate filling. It's been fun and luckily I have my class Monday evening so since I work on Tues I take the cakes for everyone at work to eat.

All About E
So I've been a slacker lately and haven't posted much, but here is one just for Eli and all the fun he's been up to. I can't believe he will be 2 in just 2 months! We took down the crib and put the mattress on the floor to see if he would sleep in a bed. He does pretty good at night, but naps are still being taken in the pack n play. We went to the pool a few times and now he doesn't get scared when the big bucket dumps the water out. He's always trying to play with water. He can slide his stool over to the bathroom sink & reach to turn on the water. He also loves to climb up on the tub & turn the water on. I even caught him in the tub the other day with his clothes on and he had turned on the water! Too bad he's figured out how to open the doors and can pretty much get into any room he wants. :) He loves to go places--anywhere. Like the store, other people's houses, etc. We are working on sharing more when we go to play with other kids, and he does pretty good most of the time. The other day Kaelub took him on a walk down to the mail box and a cat followed them home. Eli pretty much attacked it--trying to give it hugs, pet it, pulling its tail. They played on the grass for about 20 min. with the cat, and when Kaelub made Eli come inside he started crying. (Eli loves any animal. Not sure where he got that from since I'm not and we don't have any pets.) He can make all the sounds for them, (cat, dog, duck, horse, pig, snake, monkey, tiger),but I think his favorite is to say "ruff, ruff" when he hears the neighbor's dog barking. A few weeks ago we went with friends to Famous Dave's for dinner. They have a person dressed up in a pig suit that comes around. Eli loved the pig! He wouldn't stop following it, pulling on it's leg/tail, giving him high fives, and raising his arms up like he wanted the pig to hold him. They played peek-a-boo a few times, and I'm sure the pig was glad when we were seated so he didn't have a little shadow following him around. Sometimes Eli will eat anything we give him, but other times he is really picky. He loves oatmeal, waffles, cereal, & toast for breakfast. If I'm eating Raisen Bran, he wants all the raisens from it. He constantly asks for applesauce, cheese, crackers, or cheerios for snacks. Another funny thing with food is that he loves to dip his food in sauces. If we have chicken nuggets--he loves dipping it in BBQ sauce or kethup. Cucumbers in ranch, carrot sticks in ranch, french fries or tater tots in ketchup, waffles in syrup, etc. He does pretty good using his spoon and fork, but still likes to just use his hands too. Books, balls, blocks, & his puzzles are some of his favorite toys right now. And he talks so much, but a lot of times it's hard to understand him. Some things he says really good are:
Hi mommy/daddy
I love you mommy/daddy
Bye daddy/mommy
All gone
Let's go
more please
hot
happy
Bump
Boo
Shoes (he tries to put them on himself)

We love having Eli in our home. Here's a few pics of him in his favorite place.
