Kaelub's cousin and her family came from Las Vegas for the weekend and we had a lot of fun while they were here. We went to the Phoenix Zoo where Eli loved petting Pepper, the goat, playing in the water at the splash park, and looking at all the animals. He would take off running every time we took him out of the stroller. We also picked peaches at the farm for the second year in a row, and they were so good! I think we all had sticky hands from eating some as we picked. We cooked a lot of good food, played guitar hero, & Eli had a blast chasing their dog Sophie around. Thanks for coming guys---it was fun!

Sprinklers
Eli was out back with Kaelub playing on the patio. The sprinklers came on and before too long, Eli was running around playing in the water. He didn't seem to mind one bit that he was soaking wet. He even had to help Kaelub with the hose. Too bad our grass has been attacked by ants---it was looking so green.

Water Fun
The other day Kaelub came home with an inflatable pool for us to take Eli swimming in. It's just big enough for us to fit in & Eli has loved it. It's easy to fill & empty each day so I don't have to worry about him getting into it & drowning--which happens a lot here during the summer.
I also had to take a picture of him in the tub the other day because he was putting his face in the bubbles & it looked like he had a beard.

Denver Trip
Last Wednesday Eli and I flew to Denver to visit my friend from back home. Ann & I have been friends since we were Eli's age, when her mom babysat me. It seems like we have always been there for big events in each other's lives. (Trips to New York, weddings, mission, moving, etc.) So I had to go visit. She was due to have her baby less than 2 weeks from the time I would be there, and I told her she needed to have him before I left to come home. He must have been listening to me, because on Saturday afternoon cute little Carson was born. We had two days to go check out Boulder, go shopping, make some yummy sugar cookies, have some fun laughs with Jared & Jacqueline over dinner, and talk about the good ol days. We didn't get to pull out all the fun pictures...next time Ann. But I was so excited to be able to hold that little guy and be there for her. (Congrats you guys & thanks for letting me come stay with you.) Eli did great on the flight there and even fell asleep as we were landing in Denver. Great timing! He had a lot of fun playing in Ann's Tupperware drawer (surprise, surprise), and when Jared showed him how to push the buttons on the remote to control the ceiling fan & light. Their nice neighbors even brought over some balls & a fun puzzle for him to play with. It was hard to have Eli at the hospital with me because he wanted to play with everything, like most 1 1/2 year olds. So Jacqueline volunteered to watch him for me on Sunday so I could go spend time at the hospital. That was so good of her! Then she even took us to the airport on Monday to catch our flight home. Eli was ready to get on the plane, but there were a lot of people in wheel chairs & a blind person with a seeing eye dog that had to board first. So we had to wait quite a while, and he wasn't too happy about it. He let everyone know it too. It was probably a good thing because we got the whole row to ourselves. (Nobody wants to sit next to the girl with the screaming kid, right?) He was fine once we actually got walking down to the plane & got him in his seat. The snack crackers & apple juice they gave him on the plane were a big hit & kept him pretty happy. We'll be waiting for you guys to come visit us so we can see that cute Carson again!

A Boy Thing
This week was so nice we spent a lot of time in the back yard. I caught Eli doing his favorite thing--playing in the rocks. He's finally starting to become friends with the grass. He will run around on it, and if he falls down, he sits there for awhile and sometimes even grabs it with his hands. Usually he will start to whine when he wants to stand up because he doesn't want to touch the grass with his hands. But I think he's over that now. (Who would have thought grass could be such a challenge!) I think Kaelub is going to get a little pool for us to play in. Eli loves the water, so it should be a big hit. I'm hoping to take him to the local school where they have a small water center with a lazy river, fun kids zone with water slides & fountains.

Happy Easter
This weekend we had Kaelub's aunt & uncle come to visit from Utah. They moved up there from Gilbert, AZ, about 2 years ago. They brought their 4 kids and stayed with us, which was a lot of fun. We have a lot of good memories from when they lived here and we would get together to go boating, play games, swim in their pool, and have BBQ's. We miss having them so close. So we have this little joke going on with this "Hot Potato" toy. It sings that song over and over again---you can imagine how annoying that gets. Well, they left it at our house right before they moved to Utah. We decided we had to give it back to them somehow, so we wrapped it in a box with Christmas paper and left it under their tree 2 Christmases ago. We didn't put anything on the outside as to who it was from. It was great to get the call from them after they opened it & hear how thrilled they were to have it back. ;) Saturday night I went to get into bed & I felt this plastic bag under the pillow. I pulled it out, and there was the dreaded hot potato! I couldn't believe it and Kaelub is already planning the return of it to the original owners. It's going to be good!
It was fun to see Eli come downstairs to his Easter goodies. We got him this fun little golf set and some fruit snacks (he is obsessed with them). Grandma Joy sent him a package with 3 cute Easter books, and one has textures in it that he just loves. Grandma Lynda & Grandpa Denny sent him an Easter puzzle & this fun little plastic peep that lights up. Thanks for all the fun stuff & we hope everyone enjoyed their Easter!
