No Place Like Home

We made the long drive home for our summer vacation this last weekend, leaving Phoenix on Thursday morning and staying in Provo that night. The kids did pretty good, but Eli didn't sleep in the car at all so he was cranky after about 8 hours. It was fun to drive around BYU and see the changes since we were there. Friday we drove the rest of the way home and spent time with Kaelub's family. Grandpa Denny let Eli sit on his tractor and in his old truck. Eli thought that was great! Rexburg had their parade on July 3rd, and even though it was a little chilly, Eli figured out that there was candy being thrown out and he chased a lot of it down. (Even with all the bigger kids around.) We did some dutch oven cooking for dinner and then fireworks at my mom's house that night. I love coming back to where I grew up and letting my kids enjoy the "small town" celebration.
